Hanoi, on the 6th November, CMC’s Board of Directors officially announced the investment decision and has become the strategic shareholder of International BacHa University. Moreover, CMC is not only a founding member with the 10% legal capital but also takes part in IT and communication training activities. As a plan, the students of BacHa University will have working opportunities at CMC. Additionally, CMC will attract both domestic and oversea ICT enterprises which can potentially invest, cooperate and order high-quality human resources of BacHa University.

Annoucing at the opening ceremony, Mr. Ha The Minh, the chairman of CMC said: “In the development strategy up to 2010, CMC has identified that professional service in ICT is the mainstream of the Corporation”. Nowaday, since the quality of Vietnamese human resource is not high, CMC wants to contribute partly to this process. The human resource trained must be qualified to be in accordance with the social requirements, creative, good at language and adaptable to any changes in technology sector.

On the 4th November, the vice prime-minister cum minister of Training and Education, Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan gave the Decision No. 1369/QD-TTg dated 10th October singed by Prime Minister, Nguyen Tan Dung to International BacHa University. At the ceremony, there were Mr. Le Khai Phieu, the former General Secretary; Mr. Nguyen Manh Cam, the former prime-minister; Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh, the former president; Mr. Dao Trong Thi, the head of National Assembly’s Education Board and many high-profile officials as well as domestic and foreign representatives.

In the first year, the university will open two majors: Electronics-Communication and IT. The Economics and Business Administration are trained under 3 forms: Domestic training, transition oversea study and at-desk one. The university has signed the agrrement in which Griffith University (Australia) was considered its comprehensive partner. Furthermore, the university intends to recruit foreign students in the future. Now, in the year of 2007-2008, the first enrollment is 500 students.
