CMC Thanking Party for the Press

In January, a warm thanking party for the journalists and reporters was held by CMC Corporation in Hanoi to mark the arrival of Tet. During the year 2008, the Press partly contributes to promote CMC’s image and achievements. On this occasion, CMC Corporation would like to express its deep thanks to the Press, as well as wish them a healthy and wealthy new year.

It is a good chance for CMC’s PR and marketing executives to learn together and reinforce the press relationships, hoping that CMC and the Press are collaborating more closely in 2009.

CMC licensed to build telecom network

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has given his permission to the CMC Telecom Infrastructure JS Company, a subsidiary of CMC Telecom, to build network infrastructure and supply fixed telecom services.

CMC Telecom’s General Director, Pham Anh Chien, said CMC still now hires network facilities of Viettel, EVN Telecom and the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT). The firm will now be able to take initiative in providing telecom services. Chien said

that CMC Telecom would begin providing the new telecom services as soon as it could after receiving its license from the Ministry of Information and Communications.

New Year Greetings to the Member Companies.

On behalf of the Board of Leaders, Mr. Ha The Minh and Mr. Hoang Xuan Hieu, the Chairmand and Vice President of CMC Corporation respectively paid a New-Year visit and wished CMC member companies’ staff many achievements.

This first event at the beginning of the Lunar Year has reinforced the solidarity among the Corporation and the other member companies, expressing CMC’s

care for all staff who have created CMC brand name and its long-term prestige.

All staff and technicians returned to work after 5 day New Year’s vacation, strong-minded to bring their efforts together for the development of the Corporation in general and member companies in particular.

CMC Golf Tournament

On 20^th February, CMC Golf tournament will be held in Tam Dao Golf Resort which is 80 km far from Hanoi. On the occasion, CMC Corporation would like to send warmest thanks to the partners and customers who have collaborated for the last time. Also, CMC hopes that the golf tournament is not only to reinforce the business relationship but also improve the brands of CMC and IT partners and customers.

The attendees are composed of Vip and key leaders from governmental organizations and the golfers of enterprises such as CMC, Oracle, HP, Cisco, Vietnam Electricity Corporation (EVN), Vietnam Airlines, FPT, Vietsoftware, Vietnam Commercial Bank (VCB), Sytec. Joining the tournament, the attendees have chances to exchange experience and enhance their business activities in the IT field.

A trip to pagodas

At the beginning of the lunar year, CMCSoft’s leaders and staff paid a visit to some pagodas in Vinh Yen province which is 60 km far from Hanoi capital, which is one of Vietnam customs that Vietnamse usually visit pagodas and temples to pray for good fortune and happiness. Visiting many beautiful spots, CMCSoft’s staff offered flowers and incense with a hope that 2009 is the year of luckiness and prosperity. Also, this annual event is to strengthen the relationship between the leaders and the staff.

Good project news at the beginning of the lunar year

CSS, known as the Centre of Software Solution, specializes in trading software solutions. Accomplishing 2009 goals, CSS, with its young and delicated team, is recognized to be the leading sale department in CMCSoft company. Since the beginning of the lunar year, the department has received a number of good

news from its customers. Firstly, in the contract with Vietnam Development Bank (VDB), CMCSoft takes a role of providing 1000 Microsoft Office 2007 licenses. Next, CMCSoft is selected to supply Vietnam Mobile Telecom Service Company (VMS) 1000 Microsoft Office licenses and 6 sets of Exchange Svr2007. Finally, working with VNF1 company, our company will provide consultancy services and prepare tender documents on the behalf of the customer.

Hand over PapArgus project

End of January, PapArgus project’s phase 1 was delivered. Done in less than 3 months, the project was the first cooperation between CMCSoft and our French partner the web agency Ageiro. Pap-Argus is a business portal for the paper and carton industry. The site provides intelligence, news and daily prices for all the actors of this industry.

The project aims to redesign a pre-existing website called www.pap-argus.com, as well

as enhance the website quality by adding more functions.

After the phase 1, the customer highly appreciates CMCSoft staff’s working attitude which is known as responsibility, prompt action, timely implementation, and good cooperation with project manager in France. Accordingly, CMCSoft is confident to accomplish the phase 2 which will start in a few months.

Ho Chi Minh City breaks into top 10 emerging global outsourcing cities

Vietnam’s biggest city, Ho Chi Minh has broken in to the top ten of the world’s emerging outsourcing cities for the first time, according to Tholons, a leading full-service Strategic Advisory firm for Global Outsourcing and Investments. It offers a full range of service from developing globalization strategies, execution of

outsourcing strategies and monitoring and tracking of outsourcing outcomes.

Ho Chi Minh city is highly evaluated for its outsourcing of testing, maintenance, application and development services. On top of the 10 cities came Cebu (Philippines), Shanghai and Beijing (China), Ho Chi Minh(Vietnam), Krakَw (Poland) and finally Kolkata(India) in the sixth place. (BusinessWeek)

Vietnam in the top 10 countries using firefox most

According to the statistics collected from FOSS forum, in 2008 Vietnam is one of the top ten countries which have their highest rate of downloading Firefox web browser. With the rate of 62%, America ranks the first in the list. Vietnam is put the ninth on the world. Vietnamese like using this web browser for it is the faster, more secure, and fully customizable way to surf the web. (DatViet)
